Life Advice, Brah.

So, I don’t know about you, but I love a good bromance. I was first introduced to Point Break through one of my favourite movies EVER, and easily the movie I’ve watched the most over and over Hot Fuzz (The Room is a close second, I think). It is it’s own masterpiece. If you’re not familiar Nick Frost’s character wants to see some “proper action” while he’s policing in a very calm, pretty village in England. He is also obsessed with cop films. If you’re familiar with Hot Fuzz you might remember this line, which I say in my head every time I see Jackie Chan “Supercop. Meet the cop that can’t be stopped.”

Anyways back to Point Break. There’s so much to love about this movie. I have to admit the first time I watched it I was incredibly confused. I thought the movie was going to end in like 3 different spots, then all of a sudden they’re skydiving. The second watch was way better. Also, Keanu Reeves is a babe. I feel like it’s such a snapshot into what the early 90’s were like. The designs on the surfboards, the lingo, surfing, Garry Busey, I feel like it might have been the first time someone said “Brah”, I’m not sure though.

If you haven’t seen it, do.

The last time I watched it I picked up a line that Bodhi (Patrick Swayze) says, “They only live to get radical”, talking about a group up druggie thugs that tried to beat Utah up at the beach because he wasn’t from around there. This group of thugs includes Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers with some seriously questionable hair. I’m not sure if Bodhi means it in a literal way, like they’re anarchists and radical in that way, or does he mean it like they love to party? I don’t know, but either way, one of my favourite lines ever.

Without further ado, I’d like to show off my latest creation based off Bodhi’s sweet line, and the 1990’s. There’s two version, one that’s full on radical, and the other that’s more beachy-wavey-subtle. Either way you slice it it’s going to remind you to be more radical. I’ve posted these only on my Society6 page because my printing methods for my etsy page I don’t think could handle the awesome colour saturation. I’ll do a test print, though, and go from there. Society6 has really nice quality paper and printing methods, also super exciting is the tote and the pillow. I am so ordering that pillow. I can’t wait to put it on my couch and fall in love with it.
