Golden Globes 2014

The Golden Globes were this past weekend if you care! I have only a handful of people in my life who care about such things. Don’t worry, I get it, I understand. This is how other people feel when I say I’d rather poke out my eyes than watch the Olympics.

The actual awards were fun to watch thanks to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. There were a lot of zings flying, laughs to be had, joy to be shared. It was fun and I was happy to see Leo winning for The Wolf of Wall Street.

Anyways, this year I won’t be adding cute graphics to the photos because getting the internet browser to work on my computer is difficult enough, I will be simply posting photos! Also this year I’m just posting ones I like*

*this may not be true.

This is a photo of someone I’ve never heard of before, but I really like this dress. The colour is different from everything else other people were wearing (apparently white, silver, and beige are in this year). The cut of the dress feels very evening-gown-in-the-50s which is a good thing, and the shoes are really surprising and cute!

Taylor Schilling

This is the lead actress from Orange is the New Black. This dress is also a very nice colour, and the shape of it is a little reminiscent of a night-gown, but something about it works. Maybe it’s just that there was nothing else like it that made it stand out. Very nice pick I think.

Cate Blanchett

By now you should know that I love Cate Blanchett, she is like a breath of fresh air at award shows. It’s always elegant, exciting, simple, delicate and sophisticated. She is a true Hollywood star, and she doesn’t usually disappoint on the red carpet. Thank you, Cate.

This was my FAVOURITE look of the night. I didn’t say dress, I said look. Hey hair is perfect, her makeup is perfect and she has such a beautiful smile. My jaw actually dropped when I saw that dress! I’m very very excited to see what she wears to the Oscars now.

orlando
Orlando Bloom

The babes have to be represented. This is not a flattering photo of Orlando, nor does it show that his jacket was actually a navy blue colour which was quite fetching, but I needed to include it. ❤ U Legolas.

leo
Leonardo DiCaprio

Well, well, well. Yes Leo looks as good as always in the same tux he usually wears. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, and all that. Congrats to him on the win AND the nomination for Best Actor at the Oscars!

Zoe Saldana

And lastly the things that go bump in the night. Or should I say Mrs. Lee’s Grade 4 arts and crafts class? I actually don’t even know where to start with this monstrosity. Why? How? It’s like Frankenstein with bits and pieces glued and stapled together in a horrible pink and black sack of a garment. I don’t care who made this, how much it costs, etc. etc. I can’t even remember I saw a dress so VILE. Another jaw-dropping dress, this time not in a good way. Also – the shoes??? You couldnt have matched the pink of the shoes to the horrible satin in the dress?? It’s all too much. Girl better wear something nice to the Oscars because she’s got a lot of redemption ahead of her.

Am I right?

All photos were lovingly lifted with kudos to The Hollywood Reporter.
