I was looking through Real Simple magazine on the weekend and saw an image of a really beautiful room and what made it especially nice was a terrarium:
It mentioned a how to link on a blog and I thought, okay that’s really cool, and apparently it’s not as hard as you’d think it might be. So then I became obsessed with the idea of having a terrarium.
My sister and I went to a few greenhouses that day to check out some bulbs and trees and what not and I ended up buying some plants and a glass vase and some stones and I made one! So far nothing has died and it looks pretty cool. Here’s how I did it:
Here’s what you need: plants, dirt, glass vase, stones for drainage, and activated charcoal so it doesn’t get stanky. Also a note, buy less plants then you think you’ll need. I had too many. They take up more space then you think they will.
1. Put some rocks in there.
2. Activated charcoal, what what! (you can buy this at a pet supply store)
3. Dirt!
4. Plants! Try not to mangle them as much as I did.
5. Sit back and enjoy the plantyness.
